Second Child Syndrome

Pleasure to e-meet you. I’m Julie, the new Account Director at Umbrellas On The Beach. (Important note: I bring donuts and coffee to every meeting.)

Apart from donuts, I come to the table with some helpful skills including development of annual marketing plans, print production, digital marketing (from AdWords and SEO to website development and just about everything in between), CRM, campaign analytics and metrics reporting, media planning/buying, brand identity, market research, trade show strategy, and perhaps a few others I’ve forgotten to list. 

In summary–integration across marketing communications is critical, and I’m here to support your efforts in any channel while ensuring they align with overarching marketing objectives and business goals.

It’s also worthwhile noting that I have a fairly prominent case of Second Child Syndrome. Second children are typically described as:

  • People-pleaser
  • Peacemaker
  • Somewhat rebellious
  • Thrives on friendships

I’m a people-pleaser to a fault – which aligns with a very strong work ethic. Negotiating falls within my skill set, providing you with cost savings and efficiencies in your programs. Compromising is also a strength, leading to cohesive teamwork and clear communication with your deliverables. Being a second (and middle) child has also enhanced my creative side, offering an acute perspective of your advertising message and execution. 

Coming from a big family certainly has its perks, and enables one to ebb and flow in any situation. So it's only fitting that my new job title is "Account Director/Chaos Control". I'm excited to now be a part of the Umbrellas family!
